The McDaniel Diaphragm Measuring Element is a low cost reliable alternative to the conventional system of a separate chemical seal and pressure gauge.   The diaphragm measuring element combines both a chemical seal and a pressure gauge into one compact economical unit.

The McDaniel Diaphragm Measuring Element is built to withstand the corrosive , highly viscous and crystallizing media (gaseous or liquid) typical of the process industry.   It is especially well suited for applications in the chemical, petrochemical, pulp, and paper and food processing industries, in water and sewage treatment plants, and in electric power plants.

The advantages of the McDaniels Diaphragm Measuring Element over separate components include a reduced sensitivity to shock and vibration, and a more compact design.  And since the McDaniel Diaphragm Measuring Element does not use a system filling liquid, the effects of temperature are reduced, it is easy to service, and it delivers exceptional accuracy at low pressure.

The McDaniel Diaphragm Measuring Element  is designed to measure pressures as low as 0-6" WC and as high as 0-400 psi.  Allowable overpressures are up to five times the full scale range, with a maximum of 400 psi.

In situations where pulsating pressure or vibration are severe, filling with glycerin, silicone, or Halocarbon® is recommended.  For highly viscous or crystallizing fluids, the McDaniel Diaphragm Measuring Element can be fitted with an open lower flange.   For very corrosive media, a variety of corrosion-resistant materials are available on special order.
